These counting feet remind me of the old-timey cartoons where people are dancing and following the numbered feet to learn the steps.I think having a few sets of these counting feet in a classroom could be so much fun. I can imagine setting them out in funny patterns so that when children follow the numbers in order (stable-order rule) but they might have to jump over and around to go from 1 to 2 to 3, etc. You could also lay them out for follow-the-leader, a line dance, or for lining up.
These would be easy to make using foam sheets, shoe stencils and scissors. If you look closely, you can see that the right shoes are always even, and the left shoes are always odd. This small detail can really make a difference in use, so be sure to make rights and lefts so they make sense to the children.
