The New York Times Acknowledges Preschool For All

by Jennifer Asimow

On June 13th, the New York Times outlined a promising look at the future of Preschool For All recognizing that in order for all children to have access to high-quality preschool, public dollars will have to be made available for children attending private or faith-based programs. One focus of the article is on Emmanuel’s plan for the city of Chicago. He recently allocated $36 million over the next three years for 5,000 new preschool spots in the city’s most underserved communities.

The conversation continues as once again, government revisits ideas that we have known all along – quality early childhood education and care matters.
